Best Sci-Fi Movies Of 2023 Out There

As we go farther into the year 2023, we see signs of an industry-changing in ways that were unthinkable only a few short years ago, and nowhere is this more evident than in the realm of science fiction.

Huge blockbuster franchises and superhero films have dominated the genre for the past 15 years (and possibly longer), squeezing out all the competition. Even though several films from those franchises are included here, they haven’t been able to claim superiority just because they belong to Marvel or DC like they would have been able to do five years ago.

Therefore, in 2023, there has been a considerably more diverse, albeit commercially unsuccessful, crop of science fiction films that cover topics as disparate as the multiverse theory (multiverses are fashionable right now) and daily life on Earth under alien dominion. Some of these science fiction works will be well-known to audiences, while others may be new discoveries.

Here, we’ll take a look at some of the best science fiction movies you can watch using Xfinity Internet. Let’s just jump right in!

Infinity Pool

The horrific content of the sci-fi horror thriller Infinity Pool is ultimately what makes it so compelling. James and Em are visiting the made-up country of Li Tolqa on vacation when James runs over and kills a local guy with his automobile. The news that he faces the death penalty only adds to their apprehension.

James joyfully agrees to have a clone of himself executed in his place after learning that this is a legal option in the United States. James’ subsequent descent into the town’s criminal and hedonistic underworld makes the rest of the film seem like a fever dream. The film is a shining example of the sci-fi horror genre, and it was wildly successful at the box office.

Aliens Abducted My Parents, and Now I Feel Kinda Left Out

In the family-friendly sci-fi film, Aliens Abducted My Parents, and Now I Feel Kinda Left Out, a girl named Itsy meets a guy named Calvin in the town to which her family has recently relocated. Itsy, a 17-year-old with dreams of writing for the New York Times, is devastated when her parents relocate to a little hamlet in the middle of nothing.

That is until she has a chance to pen a piece about Calvin, her neighbor who is fixated on outer space. Itsy is wary of spending time with Calvin at first since he thinks the aliens took his parents away when he was a kid. However, Itsy learns that not everything is as it seems as they draw closer. Despite the film’s intended audience, science fiction fans will like it.

Molli and Max in the Future

Do you enjoy period pieces that transport you to a world far off from your own? If that sounds like you, you might enjoy Molli and Max in the Future. A woman named Molli and a guy named Max keep running into each other despite being separated by centuries, galaxies, and even directions in the science fiction romantic comedy Molli and Max in the Future. A billion years in the future, this tragic tale is populated by intelligent robots, mythical beings, and magic.

M3GAN

That she came in second place can be broken to her by someone else. Even though it came out in January, many people still think M3GAN is the best science fiction/horror movie of the year. Some reviewers (including the majority on Rotten Tomatoes) have even said that the film borders on comedy thanks to the clever one-liners and slapstick violence that is cleverly interwoven with the more serious scenes and scary story.

This film is marked with an asterisk because it had its world premiere in Los Angeles in December 2022 and then went on general release the following month. The picture was a financial and critical triumph, making about $180 million at the box office on an estimated budget of $12 million. Send your best wishes to Megan (Amie Donald as the body and Jenna Davis as the voice), who, despite an uncanny (valley) likeness to a little child, was widely commended for giving viewers the willies.

They Cloned Tyrone

They Cloned Tyrone, starring Jamie Foxx, John Boyega, and Teyonah Parris, is one of the best science fiction films of the year so far. The film depicts how Fontaine (Boyega), Slick (Foxx), and Yo-Yo (Parris) learn about a secret conspiracy after Fontaine, who had been critically wounded the night before, reappears in their lives without any recall of the prior events. The movie manages to be funny, mysterious, and thrilling all at once, with unexpected twists that keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The three leads also give excellent performances, adding to the film’s appeal.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was almost the best-selling video game of all time. By a large margin, this latest installment in the TMNT franchise has received the best reviews from critics. In contrast to other films in the franchise, this one focuses heavily on the mutant and adolescent parts of the characters. Fun, disgusting mutations and monsters that appear like they were plucked from a toy line populate the flick.

Featuring stunning visual animation, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem pleasantly surprised both critics and moviegoers with its high quality. It would have topped the charts if it weren’t for another animated superhero movie.

Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse

Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse seems to have beaten out Disney and Warner Bros’ offerings in the superhero subgenre as well as the science fiction category as a whole. There are still three months remaining in the year, but the margin of victory for Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is a razor-thin four points. Audiences were eager to see Miles in action thanks to the film’s stellar cast, which included Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 and Jake Johnson’s Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen.

Last Words

Okay, so in the year 2023, science-fiction films have caused quite a commotion.
